Welcome to the Virginia 4-H Dairy Youth Program!

The dairy youth program offers many opportunities for dairy youth and volunteer leaders to increase their dairy knowledge and skill in four general areas: dairy industry knowledge, dairy cattle judging, dairy cattle fitting and showing, and and dairy industry promotion.

CALS Events Calendar

  • May 11 State Youth Dairy Judging Workshop The workshop will be hosted by Cedar Bluff Dairy (Steve Zirkle) in New Market (Shenandoah County). Check-in will begin at 9:30 AM and the workshop will start at 10:00 AM. The event is expected to conclude by 2:30 PM. The workshop will offer tips for dairy judging as well as live animal classes in a contest format. FFA participants will receive additional instruction during the day to help prepare for the State FFA Dairy Cattle Management and Evaluation Career Development Event. DIRECTIONS to Cedar Bluff Dairy (365 Cedar Lane, New Market, VA 22844): --I-81 to Exit 264 for US 211 toward New Market/Timberville/Luray --Turn [right if traveling north | left if traveling south] onto US-211 E/W Old Cross Rd (0.2 mi) --Turn left onto US-11 N/N Congress St (1.4 mi) --Turn right onto Cedar Ln (0.2 mi)
