Contest Rules
The contest format will be the same as in previous years. The written test will only be used to seed teams; it will not be used in match scores.  Please note that youth born between January 1, 2010 and September 30, 2010 have the option of choosing to compete either as a junior or a senior.

State Team Selection
The State 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl Team will be selected at the conclusion of the senior contest. All Dairy Bowl participants in the senior division will be asked whether or not they wish to be considered for the state team at registration. A 4-H member must reach their 15th birthday during the contest year but not be past the year they reach their 19th birthday to be eligible for the state team. (This year's team members must be born in one of the following years: 2005, 2006, 2007,  2008, or 2009.)

Of those who wish to be considered, the eight individuals with the highest quiz scores will be invited to participate in a toss-up round. There will be 25 questions in the round. The same rules as used for toss-up question rounds will apply except that there will be no bonus questions. Scores from the quiz and toss-up round will be added together to rank the individuals. The top four individuals will be named to the state team with the remaining four named as alternates in order of score. In the event of a tie, toss-up questions will be asked until the tie is broken.

The winning coach at the state contest will have the opportunity to accompany the state team to the Invitational 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl Contest in Louisville, Kentucky in November and to assist in training the team.

Health History and Code of Conduct Forms
Remember: It is the responsibility of the lead chaperone to ensure the participant is enrolled and to have the health history form and code of conduct forms for their team/group members with them at all times.  The chaperone should remain in close proximity to the event.
